The Sustainable Use Directive (SUD) requires that all pesticide application equipment (PAE) is tested on a regular basis*

Any machine applying pesticides after 26/11/16 must be tested by the relevant dates. Timescales of test vary depending on type and size of equipment.

Machines applying  pesticides to control slugs must be tested to the timescales specified below

SUD and Red Tractor Assurance Scheme Requirements
          a. First test due before the machine is 5 years old
          b. Re-test every 6 years

The NSTS test includes
          a. Inspection of the spreader prior to a tray test
          b. Tray test to confirm working width and evenness of spread
          c. Electronic report of all test results
